Suzanne Kita is a free-lance writer, a journalist, an editor, a poet, and an educational consultant. She has earned a B.A. and M.A. from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and was an instructor and counselor at II community colleges for over 20 years. She was inducted into the Honolulu Chapter of the National League of American Pen Women, and served as a correspondent for the Community Colleges news magazine and has served in leadership positions for numerous higher education organizations.
Suzanne now resides with her family in Bailey, Colorado, and keeps busy writing, and doing presentations at literary conferences, schools, libraries, bookstores, and art enrichment programs. She also writes a monthly children’s column in the Mountain Connection community newspaper. She is professionally affiliated with the Denver Chapter of the NLAPW, the Denver Women’s Press Club, The Colorado and Wyoming Councils of the International Reading Association, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
Steve Sundram was born in Australia in 1963 and now resides in Maui, where he enjoys living amidst the abundant tropical life of the islands. It is a place of continual inspiration to him for his paintings. His images on calendars, greeting cards, puzzles and stationary provide vivid mementos of the spirit of the islands and bring a unique flora, fauna and ocean to life.
