About the Author and Illustrator
Kawehi Avelino
is a graduate of the Kahuawaiola Hawaiian Medium Teacher Education Program and currently resides in Kea‘au, Hawai‘i. This is her third book in the Ku‘una Series.

Eve Furchgott is an artist and graphic designer living in Hakalau on Hawai‘i Island. She has won awards in fine arts and has been blending artistic ability with computer skills in her graphics business, Blue Heron Multimedia, since the mid-1980s.

Hale Kuamo‘o is a Hawaiian Language Center that supports and encourages expansion of Hawaiian language as the medium of education, business, government, and other contexts of life in Hawai‘i.
