Reef and Shore Fauna of Hawai‘i
Donald Abbott wrote his first account of Hawaiian ascidians in 1941, as an undergraduate at the University of Hawaii. That essay grew into this book on ascidians. A. Todd Newberry added to and enlarged the introductory sections with additional revision and enlargement of the species accounts in most families. Kendal Morris's drawings come directly from specimens of most taxa.
