Its been about 25 yrs when I first stumbled on this recipe. I started bringing it to my family and friends gatherings, it is still a hit with everyone. Its an Ambrosia Salad with a twist.
Its very addicting and it seems everyone just can't get enough of it, so make a lot! It is called "Buko" Salad, buko means cocount in Filipino.
    BUKO SALAD
    (Filipino Ambrosia)
INGREDIENTS:1 lge. can Fruit Cocktail or Tropical Salad Chunks(available at Sam's Club)
1 btl. Kaong(Palm Nut in heavy syrup)
1 btl. Coconut or Pineapple Gel(in syrup)
1 btl. Macapuno Strings(Coconut Strings in heavy syrup)
2 pints Whipping Cream(not cool whip)
Drain fruit well. Rinse and drain, kaong and coconut gel, do the same for coconut strings separately. Mix all ingredients in a
