A stand-up about writers ...

If I watch one more rerun of Seinfeld I swear I’m going to turn into one of the characters. I think I’ll be Jerry. He seems the least neurotic. Kramer is the happiest in the group, but being Cosmo Kramer would be risky business most days.
George and Elaine? Really? Don’t even go there, although the time that Elaine got to be boss for a while and talked on the phone while she smoked a cigar with her feet up on the desk is memorable.

Looking for a good New Year’s resolution? Or several? My plan is to make a bunch of resolutions, to improve the chances of keeping at least a couple of them.
I’m just beginning to make my own list. In addition to resolving to finish my current novel, I’m starting a list of resolutions that all involve creative fun. For example, I plan to enter the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest again. I’ve never been a winner in this contest, but it’s great fun just to play along.

I rarely read my horoscope in the daily paper. I used to check it out regularly for laughs, but lately not so much. It would have been better for my peace of mind if I had not glanced at it recently. Much better. There it was, on page two of the Island Life section, my daily horoscope, courtesy of the Honolulu Advertiser. Maybe it was the word “romance” that hooked me. That’s one word I can’t resist.
